Scooter b. May 10, 1994 and arrived at the farm in September 1, 2020 as a semi-permanent member of our herd. He became permanent the next May. He stood 13hh and was so gentle to the minis. He made an excellent addition to help those who need to heal here at the farm. In November 2022, Scooter was diagnosed with Stomach Squamous Cancer and was humanly put to rest. You can see his grave from the barn, as we put a giant cairn in the field where his final resting place is. He was 28.
Penelope, our tiny Yorkie was born in September 2013 and unexpectedly died of Liposarcoma of the abdomen on March 27, 2024. She was 10 1/2 years old. Penelope was a mother to all chickens, cats and even Percy. Always at our side she loved to go visit the horse barn whenever she could or visit the baby chicks.
One sunny day in August of 2021, all three ducks went walking to the pond. Only Jack came back. We never saw him again but we miss him everyday. In June 2024, Jack and Jill were attacked in the middle of the night - mortally wounded and died the next day, they were 3 1/2 years of age and were a big part of the farm.
Percy was one month shy of his 15th birthday on May 23, 2024, when he succumbed to Congestive Heart Failure. His prognoses for 6 months was given almost 18 months prior and he exceeded that by a year. Percy weathered Leg Perthes Disease, recalled Purina food poisoning and two bouts of pancreatitis in his lifetime.
